Spanish Guarani

It is known that before the arrival of the Spanish and Portuguese, the entire region was the seat of the Great Nation Guarani, from the coasts of Uruguay and the Caribbean to the Andes from the dock to the Atlantic Ocean. On the other hand, two of the four original members of Mercosur countries, they maintain their native names: Paraguay and Uruguay. Likewise, Brazil and Argentina have in several place names in geography Guarani, of course, jealously guarded (Japeju, the birthplace of the Liberator San Martin, Argentina; and Itamaraty, headquarters of the Brazilian diplomacy.) In addition, the four countries there are large settlements of Native Communities Guarani, original owners of the culture and language that we currently occupy in the process of claim Americanism. Moreover, it should be mentioned that the December 13, 2006, the Guarani was recognized as one of the languages of Mercosur, according to Decision 31/06 of the Common Market Council. On the other hand, it should be noted that the April 28, 2009, the Parliament of Mercosur (Parlasur) recognized the official language of Guarani as Mercosur. Today throughout the Mercosur is estimated that there are ten million Guarani-speakers.

2. THE ORIGINS AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LANGUAGE Guarani Guarani language spoken thousands of years before the arrival of foreigners to America, as witnessed by the human fossils and cultural remains discovered and certificates throughout the Mercosur. Specifically, by way of example, the fossils found in excavations of the Itaipu Dam in Paraguay, have ten thousand years old.
